Who We Serve
Severely Wounded Heroes
Thousands of our nation’s heroes have been catastrophically wounded from their time in service. We’re easing the challenges they face due to multiple amputations, traumatic brain injury, and paralysis to help restore their independence and support their empowerment.
why we serve
My First Visit to a Military Hospital Forever Changed Me
Germany 2003, Landstuhl Regional Medical Center. I was nervous to meet these wounded service members. How should I greet them? How should I interact? Entering the first large room, there were many with less serious wounds who would be patched up and sent back to the war.
Our Severely Wounded Heroes Are Struggling Alone
More Multi-Amputee Veterans Than Ever Before
Decades-long conflicts and advanced battlefield medicine have contributed to the growing number of veterans surviving with severe injuries.
Every Severely Wounded Hero’s Needs Are Unique
Tailored rehabilitation and support programs are essential to address the individual challenges our wounded heroes endure.
Government Assistance Alone Is Not Enough
Without personalized care, grassroots efforts, and community support to complement federal aid, our heroes face an uphill battle to recovery.
Too Often, Our Heroes Struggle in Silence
Our heroes are trained to endure hardships, often downplaying their own struggles. It’s our duty to offer our support, gratitude, and love.

"I was the only one who survived."
My last memory is the second blast. My vehicle had been struck by another explosive. I survived, but my Commander and our driver didn’t. I had a traumatic brain injury and both of my legs were amputated above the knee. I underwent surgeries for months, including a cranioplasty. It was a dark time.
